Children’s Ministries

  • M&M's (our older children's fellowship group) prepare for a hot dog roast at Camp Birchwood. For information about any of our Chidlren's Minstries, please call or email the church office!

Church School classes are offered for all ages at both the 9:30 and 11:00 am Sunday services through the school year and at 10:00 am in the summer. United Methodist curriculum is used to systematically study the Bible and its application to our lives.

  • Nursery is provided at all worship services.
  • A Special Needs class for elementary aged students is offered at 11:00 in the Prayer and Healing Room.
  • Wednesday Night Children’s Activities follow the Wednesday Evening Fellowship meal during the school year.
  • Children’s Bibles are presented to our Third Graders each year, followed by an afternoon Bible Camp afternoon workshop.
  • Advent and Lent Workshops feature a variety of fun seasonal learning activities for children.
  • Birchwood Camp, located in Chugiak, offers a great variety of camp experiences for children (and youth and families, too!). Saint John is a strong supporter of camping ministries at Birchwood.
  • M&Ms (Mini-Methodists) is our 5th and 6th grade fellowship program for older children, meeting twice a month for social activities led by parents… a great introduction to future youth ministry experiences.
  • Vacation Bible School and Day Camp for children age 3 to 6th grade is a favorite summertime experience.
  • Children’s Choirs! We have two choirs for younger musicians. They meet to practice on Sundays at 10:30 am and usually sing on the second Sunday of the month.
  • Young Family Playgroup brings parents and kids together every Tuesday morning for play and fellowship.
