A Church is all about its ministries… and there are a lot of ministries here at Saint John. We take seriously the scriptural call to be not just hearers of God’s word, but also doers of God’s word. Here are some of the ways we “do” church…
Worship Ministries are those places where church members and friends help make our four weekly worship services and many special services happen. This includes music ministries, opportunities to lead public worship, helping with weddings and memorial services, and more…
Education Ministries include our children’s Christian education programs, youth classes, and both ongoing and short-term adult education programs.
Fellowship Ministries include our many programs and groups designed especially for sharing our lives with one another and extending the sense of family;y that we experience in worship. These include United Methodist Men and United Methodist Women, Monday Morning Women, youth ministries, and many of our small group ministries.
Outreach Ministries are ways that we seek to make the world a better place. These include Caring Ministries, mission projects, mission travel, support groups, special needs and older adult ministries, and much more.
Administration Ministries are those committees and volunteer opportunities that keep the church running, include our office volunteers, Trustees, church officers, and more.
Of course, it can be hard to define some of the things we do as a church, for fellowship blends so readily with outreach, and worship happens in many places… and caring happens whenever we gather together… The very best way to discover what we are doing in church is to join us for worship and meet the people, pick up the latest newsletter and the weekly bulletin… our schedules and programs are always changing and growing in response to the needs and desires of our members and friends.
