Our Staff


The Rev. Peter K. Perry is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church from the Desert Southwest Annual Conference. Peter began at Saint John on July 1, 2010. As senior pastor, his responsibilities include oversight of the staff, administrative teams, and worship.  Previously serving in Alaska at our churches in Seward and Moose Pass, Peter spent 22 years as a pastor in Arizona, serving in Mesa, Sedona, Prescott, and Phoenix. Pastor Peter loves to preach, sing, and fellowship! He and his wife Karen have two children, David and Elizabeth. David works in the film and television industry in California, and Elizabeth is a college student in Boston.

The Rev. Jo Ann Schaadt is an ordained elder from the Pacific Northwest Conference.  Jo Ann has been the associate pastor at Saint John since July 1, 2006.   Jo Ann’s primary responsibilities include pastoral care, with support to four Parish Nurses, eighteen Stephen Ministers, Divorce Care groups, three classes to persons with special needs, ministries to older adults, prayer and healing ministries, congregational care, and United Methodist Women.   She has recently returned from  Cameroon and will continue organization of mission efforts locally and in Africa.  Jo Ann’s doctoral dissertation relates to domestic violence and pastoral care and is due for completion this year.  Previously, Pastor Jo Ann served as lead pastor to Seattle’s Green Lake  and Mercer Island congregations.  Jo Ann shares her home with her daughter Sara, a golden retriever named Abby and cat named mittens.

Pastor Rose McLean… After graduating with a Master’s Degree in Religious Education from Duke Divinity School in 1968, Jimette Rose McLean, served Woodmar United Methodist Church in Hammond, IN for six years.  During that time she was certified as a Director of Christian Education by the United Methodist Church.  She served on the staff of Ann Arbor First UMC in MI for 13 years.  Prior to coming to Alaska in 1987 she was consecrated as a Diaconal Minister.  Rose has served on the staff of St. John since that time.  In July 2010, she began working part time and in July 2011 plans to retire.  She hopes to move to a UMC retirement community in Oklahoma City in the fall of ’11 to be closer to her sisters and their families. Robbie Brawner… Robbie began as the Youth Director at Saint John on June 1, 2010. As Youth Director she plans and organizes all aspects of youth ministry at Saint John as well as the College Ministry and Young Adults. Before joining the church staff, Robbie was a volunteer youth leader for five years, coordinator for M & M’s and Children’s Choir.  Robbie has also done child care for 20 years in Anchorage.  She and her husband Nick have two daughters, Bailey who is a senior at Service High School and Allison who is a sophomore at Service High School.

Judith Goodrum… Judith began at Saint John as the Director of Children’s Ministries on August 1, 2010.  As Director of Children’s Ministry, her responsibilities include coordinating, implementing, and creating programming for children and their families.  Judith previously worked at Saint John with Children’s Ministry as a volunteer from 2003 – 2008.  Judith holds a degree in elementary education.  She grew up in The United Methodist Church.  Judith’s father is an ordained United Methodist elder.  She is a military spouse and has had the opportunity to be an active part of many United Methodist Churches.  Judith likes to teach, hike, bike, and fish.  She and her husband Brent have three daughters, Emily, Elizabeth, and Hannah.
