Now that school has started and the State Fair is underway, it is time to start thinking about the big calendar change at Saint John. Every year, after Labor Day, the church moves to the winter schedule of four services on Sundays. September 12 marks the change of schedule this year. Worship on that day will be at 8:15, 9:30, 11 AM, and 6:30 PM. Don’t Forget!

Saint John’s outreach to special needs children is making a difference in the lives of the children, their families, the class leaders, and the congregation. Born out of a conviction that all of God’s children are persons of sacred worth, the special needs programs is helping all of us to see the gifts and graces that God puts in all of us, no matter what our cognitive or physical abilities may be. Unfortunately, some faith communities have unknowingly excluded persons with special needs. our goal is to be accommodating and welcoming in every way possible. All persons interested in learning more about Saint John and our life together are invited to share pizza and fellowship this evening at 6 pm on Wednesday, July 21 in the Life Center. The program staff and church leaders will tell stories of our church and share information about joining the congregation for those who are interested in doing so.

Worship this Sunday will include a celebration of Pastor Peter Perry’s new ministry with Saint John as we welcome Peter and Karen to our congregation. The congregation will join in a brief rite of installation as we remember the call we all receive to serve our God. Following each worship service there will be a time of fellowship to greet our new pastor and his wife.
